ABOUT RICHARD FENWICK

Richard is a former super lightweight world champion in Muay Thai or thai boxing as it is commonly known. The sport has taken him around the world, competing in 7 countries and living in Thailand and Australia.

Martial arts have played an important part in Richard’s life from a young age having competed in Judo at county level and he holds his Black belt 1st Dan. Having begun muay thai training for fun as a teenager, he first entered the ring in 1999 and has never looked back.

Richard qualified as a personal trainer in 2000, which also included gym & circuits instruction, massage therapist and nutrition therapist. In 2002 he became a Muay Thai instructor (British Muay Thai Association) and in 2008 he became an Amateur Boxing Association Boxing Tutor.

Since establishing AKA Gym in 2005, Richard has run the gym full time, both teaching classes for fitness, fighters and personal training. He is also a keen yoga enthusiast, practicing Bikram Yoga.
